DiorSkin Star Foundation | Review

Hello Angels
Another foundation in town ladies!! Excited? Well i have every intention to enable you, for right reasons.

DiorSkin Star Foundation - The company claims it to be their lightest formula ever yet meant to give good coverage. When i popped by Paris Gallery to upgrade my Primer (full story here), i came across this beaut and instantly fell for it after a demo.

Thinking of light, good coverage, radiant, almost flawless finish?? Well you may want to think of investing in DiorSkin Star foundation then. Am i sounding too commercial here? That's because I AM actually really really impressed by it, that i would persuade everyone to buy or atleast give it a try.

The product blends easily, feels feather light on skin and gives medium to light coverage. It evens out discoloration or blemishes yet gives a very natural look and feel to the skin. The texture is smooth and shimmer less. After application your skin looks bright, radiant and healthy (not dewy, which am ok with). And the same is retained for more than decent no of hours.

The bottle is a keeper and the pump is a dream to use. Those who love Dior Nude foundation, is sure to love this even more.

Cost AED249/USD50 (SPF 30)

Am currently loving my foundation routine with this babe. My skin transforms to a better version of itself without looking too made up. Also the foundation is scented, but for some really odd reason it doesn't upset me (scented face products usually gives me a headache!)

I luckily found a true match (030). The product comes in 12 shades, however not every region may stock all of it.

Which foundation do you consider holy grail?

The Dior SkinFlash Primer | Thumbs Up

Hello Angels
Summer means more heat, more humid, more time spend under A/C and despite best efforts dehydration of skin. Hence during Summers i upgrade my moisturizers and Primer. For Primer i settled for Dior Skin Flash this time.

It is called the Anti Dullness Radiance Boosting Complexion primer , Yes a mouth full!! But the product does a fantastic job in boosting and bringing an instant glow to your face. Literally.

It as a runny texture with pearl-like shimmer infused. Don't be intimidated, this will NOT leave your face white washed. It blends in like a dream and is quickly absorbed. My skin looks brighter, fuller and healthier. Days when you simply want to dash out with no heavy makeup, reach out for this baby and then set using a powder.

Underneath your foundation, it works equally well and helps hold your foundation longer. Makeup looks even and flawless.

Test - one may not be able to tell the real difference or impact on a morning face, because you wake up fresh anyways. So i put it to test after a long day at work before heading out for Dinner. Result was evident.

Application - The smooth synthetic brush allows easy application. But i use my fingers or another brush for hygiene reasons.

Packaging is lush. Nothing less expected of Dior. Comes in a velvet posh and can be easily slipped into your handbag.

The only drawback is the twist pen applicator. I wasn't sure of how many twists are required to get the product out. And at times end up with a lot more than needed. Though am getting better at it, i still prefer a pump any day.

Cost AED215/USD43. When it comes to purchasing an expensive product, i always prefer testing it on myself before the splurge. And will advise the same too.

Holiday Picks | Make Up

Hello Angels
As you may know from my previous posts, Instagram and Twitter feeds am in London right now. That time of the year when i get to take a short break from work life and other commitments. Being a hard core advocate of 'Travel Light' policy, I thought it would only be appropriate to talk about my Travel Beauty picks...Click for a detailed review.

Foundation - Choice was obvious here, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Blush - Ysl Baby Doll Kiss&Blush in No.8. When on holidays, one hardly gets time to retouch or never really bother. But ofcourse who wants to look all pale and flushed?? So my pick was this beaut. Tried and Tested, this cream to powdery blush stays put for 5 hr +
Nars Lip Pencil in Yu - Its been my favorite, ever since i received them (Click Here). The color is quite bright. But i tend to dab them in required intensity only. I apply a layer of Vaseline underneath to moisturize my lips. The weather out here is quite dry
Bronzer - The cold, chill wind and dryness, leaves your skin quite pale and white! Chanel Les Beiges in No.2  is a new purchase. So far loving it. The product contains a light and a dark brown with a lighter highlighter shade. Combination of the 3, works very well for contouring. The packaging and embossing is a beauty.
Eye - I like to keep my makeup very light during holidays and hence skip on eye liners most days. To compensate plus to add a bit of definition, i use the Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette. Nothing too overboard yet does the job. Life saver

Last but not the least, there was a cheeky purchase at the Duty Free store. Duty Free shops are ideal for limited edition palettes. Like this one for example. I don't think one can find them in a local store. Value for Money. It houses a Concealer, compact, blush, 5 eye shadows, Mascara, Eyeliner Pencil, 2 Lip sticks and a gloss!!! Now how can i turn my back on something soooooo absolutely perfect??

I will post a detailed review on my return. Let me know if your interested?

I may have taken few other bits too but these are the only items actually used! Let me know your thought? Any recommendations for shopping beauty products at London?

Sailor by Dior | Transat Summer 2014 Collection

Hello Angels
Summers are here and though in no form i heart Dubai heat, one thing to look forward to is the Summer Makeup collection launches. Here is my first buy - Dior's nail varnish in Sailor. How gorgeous is this color? Honestly, am not a fan of blue color. I like my Pastels, Pinks and Reds. But this one stood out for me..

It compliments my skin tone well and looks amazing. Dior polishes to me are the best in quality. Wide brush, dries super quick and leaves a shine behind. Of course they are expensive and hence picky with the colors i buy.

These also come in a limited edition boxes. Each box contains a nail lacquer, CD buffer and nail stickers.

A very close dupe to this one is Ciate's Pool Party. The latter is slightly more darker though.

The name is quite appropriate i would say. It reminds me of a Sailor's uniform. The other 2 shades from the collection are Captain (Red) and Yacht (Nude). I have my eye on both! (I'm hopeless

The names chosen are super cute. How do you like this color? Yay or Nay?

Dior Nails | Top 3 favorites

Hello Angels
Lately, i am drawn towards nail polishes a 'lil too much!! My weakness for blushes was identified and written off long back (by myself and my loved ones), but looks like somebody may have to share the spotlight!!!
Among high end nail polishes, Dior is my favorite. They have a beautiful collection and i seem to want 'em all!
No surprise there....

I adore Dior for
a) applicator. Wide and fine bristles. Am not an expert when it comes to self application of nail paint but with Dior i pull off a decent finish.
b) Consistency. The consistency is just right. Not too thick nor too liquidy!
c) Packaging. Love Love Love (enough said!!)

Here are 3 colors am loving at the moment....

Dior Vernis Masai Red- Every girl needs a Red polish! There is a red for every occasion. This one is more of an evening/formal kinda red. Such a gorgeous color!
Dior Darling 653 - Reminds me of summer. Causal yet very feminine color.
Dior Vernis Purple Mix - Another stunner by Dior. I think the color speaks for itself

Lighter shades of Dior leave behind streaks in the first coat which later gets covered completely in the second. With very light colors i do tend to go for a third coat. A top coat gives the perfect finish and your set to rock!

Which one is your favorite girls? Do you prefer lighter shades over dark? Which other color from Dior do you think i should add to my collection?

Have a great weekend

Love
