YSL Youth Liberator Foundation | Review

Hello Angels
This week has been extremely extremely busy for me and hence the lack of posts too. But it's the weekend again and am all set with my bloggers hat on!!

I must say the influence of advertisement and social networking sometimes takes over oneself. I was in no need for a new foundation because I recently bagged the Laura Mercier Silk Creme. However, the much much raved about YSL Youth Liberator Serum foundation launched in Dubai recently and i found it impossible to put my curiosity to rest.

I tried the product on before purchase and finally bagged shade BD50 (Beige Dore')

Packaging
The bottle is indeed very pretty but honestly I was a tad bit unhappy because I have an history of breaking bottled foundation. Especially when the foundation in question is worth US$68. Butter Fingers! I love the easy to use, no mess pump. Life savers.

Texture
The texture is a bit thick and heavy. Slightly more liquid than semi liquid. I pump a tiny blob on the back of my hands, then dap the same all over my face using my fingers. Then blend using my Sigma F82. After application your skin feels slightly wet but the same dries out soon. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to set.

Coverage and Finish
The foundation offers medium to high coverage. The finish is absolute gorgeous. I love the flawless coverage it provides. Lasts long, really long. This week though I slogged for long hours at work, my face gave out no signs of tiredness. The foundation is made to give a dewy/glowy finish. I love how most of my blushes look even more pretty on my cheeks with this foundation on. BONUS!!

Price/Shades
Definitely pricey. Wasn't expecting YSL to price any lower either. Moving on to shades...I was lucky enough to find a perfect match but few of my friends had trouble finding theirs. And with the product being this expensive it is not very feasible to buy 2 shades to mix.

Verdict
The product is really good. But do give the same a try before purchase to ensure you have the right shade.

Let me know how you like the sound of this foundation. which foundation do you use at present??

Love
