What's up my lovelies?? 

About the title, Nails and Book! Yes, i know they don't really blend. But i thought i would share 3 of my early September favorites. By profession am a Finance Analyst, so my day to day work life is not very colorful or glamorous. However, i add tad bit color to my so called 'professional attire' with the help of accessories or in this particular week using nail paints.

This light lilac-y blue color by KIKO is an old favorite. To this i added Barry M's Amethyst Glitter. I so so loved the combination and received compliments too! woop woop! Am growing rather fond of this style and may try it out with other colors too.

Another find - Monumental  by X Formula. I love love X Formula's pastel collection and this one is truly the perfect nude shade. It goes well with all outfits and i cannot stop starring at my nails!!

If i wasn't painting my nails, i was mostly glued to this book - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. International best seller and that says it all. Though it did take me a couple of chapters to really get hooked. And then there was no separating us. The story revolves around a couple Nick and Amy and their disturbed marriage. Amy disappears on the morning of their 5th anniversary.

The book takes us through several events in a parallel fashion - Investigation/Interrogation by Cops, Nick turning out to be not so 'Perfect Husband' after all and narrations from Amy's Diary about her life with Nick.

I won't let out any spoilers but do make sure you add this thriller to your list.

Some Good Reads

Hello Angels

Hope you guys had a lovely weekend, i surely did! Reading books is a hobby i miss terribly because of my work life. However, i always make note of popular books to read when time allows. Last month i knocked off 2 books from 'My List' and thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

The Fault In Our Stars
I purchased this book at the duty free on my way back to Dubai from London. Romantic, emotional, heartbreaking fiction. A must read.

Story about young Hazel and Augustus, who spent most part of their lives fighting Cancer and what happens when their paths cross. Romance bud and they find true love whilst battling a painful torturous disease.

You feel the joy, hardship and pain the characters are left to battle with. All the while hoping for a miracle to happen. Now a motion picture, however i recommend reading the book first if time allows!

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

Another excellent book turned into motion film. Slightly more relaxed and light on heart.

A young boy Charlie and his attempt to participate in Life - His Life, wherein he deals with family drama, haunting childhood memories, attraction, friendship, and all good and bad things school life has to offer!

A short book that takes you on a fun ride to good old school days and dilemmas of Growing Up!

A Magical book of truth - The Power

A book that inspired me. And to an extend put me on the right track♥

The power by Rhonda Byrne 

This book as changed my perception in a material way and am glad about it

Have you ever felt num? Blank? Or lost as to where life is taking you?

Have you settled for less in life just because you assume that's your faith or destiny?

Have you feared to Dream?

Have you held back from speaking your mind fearing the outcome?

Have you been consumed by negativity which led you to hard aches and difficult times?

Do you feel good about yourself?

Well, many of us may have nodded our heads to the above, at least I did

Often it happens that reality strikes us only when it gets explained to us, not that it was completely alien to us before. Something similar happened to me when I read this book. Perhaps most of things it said were stuffs and truth I was aware of. But I never convinced myself to act accordingly or implement them in my life

This book gave me a wake up call! And so it did to many...♥

It talks about how to live an amazing life. It helps you dream and desire. It helps you act and react. It clears out all that unnecessary doubts and skepticim away. Trust me it really does! Everyday we make billions of choices. What happens to us is not just faith, it is the outcome of our choices. If we realize this simple fact then life becomes less complex.

 Live on positive frequency. Take away the negativity. Use less of words like 'terribe', 'frustration', 'struggle' etc..treat others the way you would want to be treated. And it will come back to you...Karma

Whatever you may feel, whether good or bad, determines your frequency and accordingly attracts people, situation, events that are on the same frequency

To change anything - be it matters concerning money, health, relationships or anything for that matters we need to change the way we FEEL

I would highly recommend this book to each of you. I read one chapter everyday before I hit bed. I wake up each morning not cursing my hectic work schedule but thankful for another day and a Job itself.

♥ Mini Haul ♥

Hello Angels

As you can tell, i bagged a few goodies over the past week and here is a quick sneak peek!

I purchased this soo very adorable elephant ear rings from Porfolic. I adore 'em♥!!

Plus the collar statement necklace. Am very much into statement necklaces this year, as i find them perfect to accessorize any 'not so interesting' outfit or even to add that extra charm to your attire. I love the color combination on this one

Then comes, perhaps one of my best buys ♥. Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. I do know there are plenty of You tube videos on makeup tutorials. But am book crazy! There is nothing like flipping through those bright, colorful pages over a cup of coffee...

This book walks you down a step by step process of Face, Eye and Lip makeup. Also Bobbi Brown advises on essential food requirements for a healthy, glowing and younger looking skin. From selecting your makeup tools to application, this manual can be your go to guide. To me it also adds to my book collection!
